Rawthorpe Amateur Boxing Club lands new long-term sponsor to help cover costs

A Milnsbridge boxing club that always punches above its weight has received vital support from a local business.
Brighouse-based AOne Tools & Fixings has announced a long-term sponsorship with Rawthorpe Amateur Boxing Club (RABC), run by anti-knife crime campaigner Mark Reynolds.

The club, still recovering from the impact of the pandemic, was struggling with spiralling energy bills.

AOne Tools & Fixings said RABC “goes beyond being a traditional boxing club; it serves as a community centre, an education centre and a safe haven for all individuals. It is a club that welcomes anyone and everyone.”

Company spokesman Liam Ineson hailed the club’s “exceptional” work and added: “Mark’s outreach programmes in schools and in the surrounding areas deeply resonated with us, prompting our wholehearted support and desire to get involved.

“Mark’s ‘Fists over Knives’ initiative not only provides help to those in need but also instils a positive mindset and a path for personal growth.

“Upon meeting Mark, we were captivated by his infectious, cheery nature and unwaveringly positive attitude. It became clear that AOne Tools & Fixings could play a role in supporting his vision.

“In light of the pandemic and the enduring cost-of-living crisis, which have left many individuals struggling with their day-to-day lives, we have collaborated with Mark to provide funding for the club’s daily operational expenses, including rent, electricity, water, and more. Additionally, we have fitted out the entire club with new training, travel and competition wear.

“This partnership with Mark and the RABC extends beyond a mere one-time collaboration. It is a relationship built on shared values and a common goal.

“Moving forward, we aim to work closely with Mark and the RABC to not only offer a safe and nurturing environment for training and exercise but also to nurture and develop the next British boxing champion. Keep your eyes out for Adam Morris.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Mark and the RABC and look forward to witnessing the incredible achievements that lie ahead.”
